2006 New Team Members

2006 looks to be an incredible year for JW Dundees Premium Beers Cycling Team. We have Four new cyclists joining the team!

Yvette LaBombard

Yvette is JW Dundee's first women's rider. She is a national caliber rider with a rapidly growing palmares that includes

Gold Empire State Individual Time Trial
Gold Empire State Team Time Trial
Gold NYS Time Trial
4th Master's Nationals Time Trial
5th Master's Nationals Road Race

Watch out guys, she is faster than us, so start making your excuses early.

Mick Snyder

Mick returns to the racing scene from being a competitive cyclist in 90's. He raced as a junior in Europe and as a Cat 3 state side. Mick is a local pastor, and will be blessing our bikes and quads before the racing season begins.

Kevin Mahoney
This year we not only stretched the gender boundaries, but also went outside the Rochester geography to pick up some superb talent. Kevin has been road racing for 4 years and is Cat 3. His palmares include:

2nd NYS Crit Championship
2nd Ascension Crit Cat 3
1st Jean Masse Memorial B Crit series (2003)

Kevin races every weekend possible and enjoys racing in nearby Canada as well. His goals and aspirations are to become the official beer taster for the team...get in line Kevin. Kevin's black belt in Kung Fu hopefully will not have to be utilized during post race discussions.

Jonathan Dechau

Jon is is a local legend, having raced for more than 16 years. He is a Cat 1, and has a history of winning many regional events. His racing and coaching experience will pay dividends to the entire team. Jon and his wife are expecting their first child in six weeks.

JW Dundees Premium Beers Cycling Team will be saying good-bye to Mike Mathis who heads to the Cat 1/2 Preferred Care Team . Mike contributed greatly to the Team Palmares in 2005.

Finally, the Team bids a reluctant farewell to Dr. Jim Fetten. The cancer survivorship program that the team is very proud to participate in is very much the result of Jim's hard work and determination. The Team owes much to Jim for his efforts in developing the program, as well as for his efforts on the bike. Unfortunately for us, Jim's greatest commitments are to his family and his career, leaving little time for bike racing. Jim will still be an active consultant with the cancer survivorship program.

Up and coming cycling star Chris Riley correctly answered the first JW Dundees Premium Beers Cycling Team Trivia Challenge. Chris if you prove your age, I will have a six pack of fine brew waiting for you on the first Tuesday night series. Cardona, you came in second and if for any reason Chris does not show or is not of age, it goes to you. Oddly enough I found a photo with both of you.

A Chat With Team Manager Bob Wells

We are all looking for some quality entertainment for our winter "indoor rides". Bob Wells, the team manager of JW Dundees Premium Beers Cycling Team spends a few (13) minutes with us talking about cycling. Please download THIS .mp3 to your pda or iPod and listen while grinding out the hours on the trainer. Best enjoyed with Windows Media Player. For the first to leave a comment with the correct answer to "What is Bob Wells' favorite junk food?", I will supply a 6 pack of JW Dundees Premium Beer at the first Tuesday night series race. The winner will be announced on this web site. You must be present at the first Tuesday night race to receive your prize. Sorry, team members are not elligible.
