JW Dundee's Porter

IMG_9980

Its that time of year. Time when I can spend a few minutes sipping the latest seasonal brew from our local brewery, and coincidently our main sponsor. I can't say I have tried many Porters up until now, but doing a little research on this style of beer has made me try out other brands, and I like the JW brand the best. Its not a beer I think you want to drink a six pack of, nor is one I think you want to sip all night. Its somewhere in between. A friend recommended I try it at "cellar" temperature, or about 45-50 degrees. Unlike many beers, this one gets better with a bit of warmth. The true flavors come out and are not hidden by the cold sensation.
I am not sure how long the beer will be available, but better go to your local beer shop and pick up a six pack, perhaps even a few samples of other porters to compare with while there would be worth your time.
I had mine with some Brie cheese and water crackers, which was a perfect pre dinner taste bud enhancer.
Remember, always drink responsibly, and drink your local beer when you have the chance.
