Survivor Ride

The first survivor ride took place under perfect spring conditions last night. About a dozen cancer survivors and their friends and family joined up with a large contingent of team members to enjoy a ride around the Mendon Pond Park area.

As usual Dwight (D-Man) took over as Master of Ceremonies. Dozens of smiles appeared as Dwight entered the parking lot. He immediately welcomed everyone and discussed the current racing season, introduced some new faces and quickly organized the ride into two groups.

This casual observer noticed that the Winter spinning classes have really paid off in keeping up the level of fitness. The group choosing the shorter ride kept a brisk pace, only stopping to make sure we all kept together before an important turn.

Refreshments from Hammer Nutrition where provided by RV&E for a recovery ride snack.

Hopefully next Monday's ride will have similar weather and even a greater turnout.
